General Information

We use a tarnish-resistant
silver wire. However, it still will tarnish
some.
A silver cleaning
cloth works very well.
You must be careful to draw the chain through the
cloth very gently.
These should be available
at your local bead shop.
Line a pan with
aluminum foil. Place mixed liquid in lined pan and bring to a
simmer.
Add whatever needs to be cleaned to simmering water.
(The
duration that your piece remains in the water appears to be
variable,
because
no specific instructions regarding that were given.)
When removing items
from water, DO NOT use anything metal;
use a plastic or wood fork or spoon,
etc.
This method was given to me at the class in which I learned how to
knit the wire.
It seems to work well and is less likely to damage the
chain.
Jewelry containing lead should
be
avoided by children, nursing mothers and pregnant women.
